Cookie Policy

Last updated: 12 October 2025. We use a small, deliberate set of cookies and local-storage entries on this site. No advertising trackers, no third-party data brokers.

1. What a cookie actually is

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device so it can remember something between visits — that you have already dismissed a banner, for example, or that you prefer a particular layout. Local storage works the same way but with more space and without being sent back to the server on every request.

2. The cookies and storage entries this site uses

2.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off through this policy.

  • PHPSESSID — a session cookie used to remember the security token for the contact form so we can protect against cross-site request forgery. Deleted when you close your browser.
  • dq_cc_pref (local storage) — remembers your choice about non-essential cookies so we do not show you the banner on every page. Kept for twelve months.

2.2 Analytics

We do not currently use a third-party analytics service. Our hosting provider keeps anonymised access logs (IP address truncated, no user identifier) for fourteen days for security purposes only.

2.3 Marketing & advertising

None. We do not run remarketing campaigns, we do not embed advertising pixels, and we do not share visitor data with any advertising network.

3. How to control cookies

Three ways:

  • Use the small cookie icon in the lower-left of every page to re-open the banner and change your decision at any time.
  • Clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. The banner will reappear on your next visit and you can choose again.
  • Block cookies entirely in your browser settings. The site will still work but the cookie banner will appear on every visit.

4. Third-party content

This website loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which may set its own cookies when the typeface files are requested. We have configured the request to use a privacy-friendly endpoint and do not transmit any of your information to Google as part of that request.

5. Changes to this policy

If we add a new cookie or remove an existing one, we update this page and reset the cookie-consent banner so you are asked again. The version date at the top tells you when the latest revision was published.

6. Contact

Questions about cookies can go to [email protected]. A human (usually one of the two directors) will reply.
